About
I am a US-based freelance wildlife cinematographer (Alaska and Washington State). I have a variety of remote field experience, both on boats and land, and have set up and run remote field camps in Alaska.
I work for companies such as BBC, IMAX, PBS, Smithsonian, Disney+ and National Geographic. Some of the most recent series I’ve filmed on are the National Geographic/Disney+ series ‘Queens’, ‘Secrets of Penguins’ and ‘Underdogs.’ Our team for the National Geographic series ‘National Parks: USA’ was selected for an Emmy in Outstanding Cinematography. I have also recently been selected for the 2025 ASC Vision Mentorship Program.
I have also done some on-camera and witness camera work. I was a presenter and cinematographer on a children’s conservation series for CBBC ‘Planet Defenders’ in the Falkland Islands on rockhopper penguins and on Schoolyard Films ‘Working with Bears’. I was featured in National Geographic ‘Queens’ episode ‘Behind the Queens’ that included a press tour at New York Fashion Week ‘Fit for a Queen’, the premiere in Hollywood and the White House (2024).
Along with contracting as a cinematographer for production companies, I self funded, filmed and produced a film with Jack Johnston, called ‘My Alaskan Journey’ which will be featured on Alaska Public Media/KTOO in 2026. This film follows family stories around Alaska and included 6 months of remote filming work and logistics in 2019.
I am also a deep- sea video engineer. I was originally trained during an internship with Dr. Robert Ballard’s exploration vessel, Nautilus, controlling the live cameras on ROVs at depths of 4000 meters. I have also filmed with ROV set ups for BBC for their upcoming series, Blue Planet III.
I am a trained guide and naturalist in bear country and a third generation commercial fisherwoman in the largest sockeye salmon run in the world. I run a commercial set net fishing operation in Bristol Bay Alaska and have spent time at remote Alaska fishing camps since I was a toddler. I am very comfortable on boats and was fortunate to work for and learn from a very talented skipper down in the South Atlantic on a 50-foot sailboat for a southern summer.
I am a FAA certified drone pilot and certified Wilderness First Responder (with Adult, Child, Infant CPR, AED, and Airway Management and Epinephrine Auto-injector). I own and operate my RED raptor, RED Epic-W, CN20, canon r5 and mavic drone. Learn more about my field/camera skills here.
